Consider a Baseline Audit

The main objective of performing the baseline audit is to provide the practice with an independent review in preparation for a future official Recovery Audit Contractor audit. This baseline audit is not meant to capture every situation that could arise out of the official RAC audit; however, the sample size established is large enough in scope to statistically provide a significant level of confidence that the results will mirror what a RAC audit would discover. The baseline audit is performed with only the data collection phase occurring in a manner that requires assistance by you or a designated office staff member which helps achieve the objective of minimizing the time spent by your team. Your time is best spent addressing the results rather than in the mechanics of performing the review. An additional objective is to identify opportunity if it exists to correct under-billings as well providing possible revenue enhancement.
